How do you grade your books?

Does FuturePerfect buy books?
Certainly. If we weren't buying, we would have nothing to sell. If you have vintage (we specialize in books printed prior to 1975) science fictions books that you must part with for whatever reason, we would love to hear from you and talk about what you have. If you have items that fit our niche and are in the appropriate shape, we will make you an offer to buy. Contact us at futureperfect@winnovative.com

How do you grade your books?
We use a unique rating system that we have developed that we think is a little more fun than the typical 'this book is very good' or 'VG-'... We grade our books as follows: Alderaan: This book, like Princess Leia Organa's homeworld, is 'perfect'. This is basically an unread copy that has escaped the ravages of time and wear. It might have the slightest tanning of color, but no creases., etc. Bespin: This book is in very good condition - has no writing or tears. The cover likely retains much of its gloss. There are slight signs of having been read, some slight chipping or rubbing on spine, but very slight. Spine can only have the minimal amount of roll, but no cracking. Highly desired item. Millenium Falcon: This book shows signs of use, perhaps a few very visible blemishes, but 'she's got it where it counts, kid'. A book we have graded as Millenium Falcon can have a small monogram on the inside, with no writing on the outside. This is still a tight book, no loose pages or cover. There may be some slight tears at the corners of the spine, but nothing that is threatening to have the book come apart (' c'mon baby - hold together!'). This book will have more reading creases than a 'Bespin' book, but generally is still a tight, square, solid copy that is collectible. Most of the vintage Sci Fi books from the '50's through the '70s that have not been over used will fall into this grading. Nice addition to any collection. Mos Eisley: This book, like the infamous spaceport after which it is named, is on the rough and tumble side. This is, as they like to say on other sites: 'well loved'. This book can have major issues: one or more covers may be loose, pages may be loose, with some even missing. There may be writing on the outside and/or inside. There may also be tape or labels(s) on the book. This is definitely a book that was brought to the cantina and read with the cover folded back. Buy this book because you can't afford one in better condition, you need to fill in a gap in your collection or becuase you love the cover art.
